Our December bride, Alizée, unveils us her fashion and beauty advice
Maison Guillemette : Can you tell us in a few words what will be the ambiance of your wedding?
Alizée, our December bride : We wanted to get married in the South of France, my mother’s region, where I spent all my summers at my grand-mother’s. However, it was difficult to find an authentic place in the Saint-Tropez Gulf. We were lucky to be able to reunite our families and friends in a magnificient vineyard, with a georgeous bastide made of old stones of the area.
The decoration was rustic, authentic and refined. The colors were the natural kraft and a lavander-blue Liberty (that you can find on the Igor vest). We have bargain-hunted a lot of decoration and tried to create the best ambiance for our friends, installing a cigar bar, a photobooth, custom glasses, not to mention the Spritz and the Limoncello (to remember my Italian origins).
The guests’gifts were Liberty little bags (sewn by my aunt) filled with lavander to remind Provence.
We had a sunset on the vines, a dinner under the stars, the party under the plane trees, and the rustic lights until the early morning…A dream.
Maison Guillemette : How did you decide which wedding dress choose?
Alizée, our December bride : I have in mind a quite precise idea of the dress I wanted to wear for the D-Day. I wanted it to be open-back, with three-quarter sleeves and with lace. I wanted something pur, beautiful, and summery but no too bohemian.
I had looked at many dresses on the designers’ websites, and the first dress of my first day of fitting was a real favorite. I knew it was it while trying the others, I only thought about the first one!
Maison Guillemette : Why did you choose a Maison Guillemette hair accessory? How did you decide yourself ?
Alizée, our December bride : I first knew Maison Guillemette because I wanted to have my hair detached and also find a beautiful garland. When I went to the showroom, I realized that the Maison also made veils and I cracked on the Carmen veil.
That day, we were with my mother and my grand-mother and we all found it just sublime. It was simple with a touch of lace on the edges. I can’t even tell you the number of compliments I got for this veil. 🙂 The real touch that makes me feel “bride”.
Maison Guillemette : What was your hairstyle for the D-Day?
Alizée, our December bride : My hair were detached but raised on the top to hold the veil and fresh flowers.
Maison Guillemette : An idea, a trick to share to a bride-to-be?
Alizée, our December bride : Surrond yourself of your families and your friends. Make them participate. There are the best memories that you will keep. Organise youself before to be tatally relaxed on the D-day. Enjoy every moment surrounded by your loved ones.
Maison Guillemette : For which Maison Guillemette accessory will you be unable to resist? And at what occasion do you want to wear it?
Alizée, our December bride : Now my big day has passed, I’m very tempted by the Gold hairban or by the Ginger White hairband to dress up the big days of my friends who are going to get married in 2018 !
